HTB Event Sponsorship

IEEE humanitarian- and sustainable development-related events may submit a proposal for HTB sponsorship that demonstrates how the event would align with the IEEE HTB vision and contribute to one or more of its strategic areas of focus:

  1. Tech4Good: HTB supports impactful and ethically-informed programs, projects, and events that promote humanitarian engineering expertise to advance the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
  2. Awareness & Outreach: HTB raises awareness of engineering and technology’s role in sustainable development and amplifies the opportunities for IEEE members in this space to increase impact and reach.
  3. Best Practices & Frameworks: HTB enables transparency and accountability through guidelines & metrics that will provide resources to achieve positive impact on society.
  4. Partnerships & Collaboration: HTB collaborates across and beyond IEEE to foster opportunities and capitalize on mutually beneficial collaboration and knowledge-sharing.

Important Considerations

  • The total budget and line items must be listed in US Dollars.
  • The sponsorship budget line items for all event activities should be clear, granular, and justified. Please describe other sources of sponsorship for the event as appropriate.
  • Please ensure only one proposal is submitted for the same event.
  • Any event that has received sponsorship/funding from either IEEE HTB or its predecessor HAC (Humanitarian Activities Committee) must have completed all prior reporting requirements in order to be considered for sponsorship.
  • All events that involve children must follow IEEE Guidelines for Working with Children. Any HTB Event funding will be contingent on policy compliance.
  • Funding must be able to flow through an IEEE conference CB account or IEEE organizational unit’s IEEE account.

HTB Sponsorship Packages

Please review the HTB Sponsorship Packages before submitting an application.

How to Apply

All requests for sponsorship must be submitted via the IEEE HTB Online Funding Opportunities Portal. Requests will be reviewed on a rolling basis by the HTB Events Committee throughout the year.

Proposal Evaluation Criteria

  • Alignment with HTB vision and strategic areas of focus.
  • The activities to be supported are well-defined, have a clear target audience, and performance metrics are appropriate.
  • Projected impact of the event and its potential benefit to IEEE members.
  • Event team has the necessary experience and track record to successfully execute the event.
  • Value that the event could provide for increasing IEEE OU membership and member engagement.
  • Clear, granular, and justified budget request for all event activities to be supported.

Reporting Requirements

A summary report on the event with evaluation metrics must be submitted within two months following the event. The report must include a brief overview of the overall event, with pictures if possible, and primarily focus on the perceived impact of the HTB sponsorship. Additional reporting may be requested for a period of up to three years following the event.
